Perspektive Studienqualität

The volume "Perspectives on Quality of Studying" presents the content and results of the HIS specialist meeting of March 2009 in Hanover. The focus of the meeting was the concept of the "quality of studying" and its interplay with the general conditions governing studying, the quality of teaching, success in studying, university and college finances and the infrastructural preconditions. The contributions to the volume of essays from the meeting illustrate the degree to which these factors can help to improve the quality of studying. The three HIS corporate areas of IT support for universities, research into higher education and the development of higher education are fundamental to a holistic view of the topic. The Editor The Higher Education Information System (HIS) lends support to German institutions of higher education and government policy on higher education as a software house for higher education administration; within the area of higher education research, it helps through empirical studies and other forms of expert reports, and in the area of higher education development it advises on the central issues of organization and construction.
